The basic principle is to avoid all external influences, which can lead to developing disorders of the brain or premature birth. Human embryos and fetuses are sensitive to so-called "teratogenic" influences during pregnancy, especially in the period from the 18th to the 85th day after fertilization. These include, in particular, infections, x-rays, alcohol, fruit-damaging medicines and in particular the poison cocktail of a tobacco cigarette.
