The new Nitecore Intellicharger NEW i2 is an intelligent universal charger for almost all battery types and enables charging for Li-Ion, Ni-MH, Ni-Cd and LiFePO4 batteries.
With a charging system optimized for IMR batteries, the batteries are charged safely and gently. The two-bay charger automatically recognizes the inserted batteries. The two charging bays are monitored by 2 microprocessors.

Intellicharger NEW i2 Review

The Intellicharger New i2 can charge two batteries. As the successor to the i2 charger, the New i2 scores with twice as fast charging time. The New i2 automatically detects non-rechargeable batteries that are inserted upside down and indicates this by flashing four LEDs. It adapts the charging current to the capacity of the battery to be charged. The charger selects between four charging currents. It detects 3.7 V Li-ion batteries, 3.8 Li-ion batteries, 1.2 V Ni-MH / Ni-Cd batteries and 3.2V LiFePO4 batteries. Each charging shaft charges the inserted battery independently. The charging progress is indicated by an LED. When the charging process is complete, the charging current stops automatically. The Intellicharger New i2 can reactivate deeply discharged batteries and deeply discharged Li-Ion batteries. The charger is protected against short circuits and has reverse polarity protection.

Setting options of the Intellicharger NEW i2

There is a button above each charging slot for manual setting options if the battery capacity is greater than 1200 mAh. In conjunction with the C button, the charging current can be selected manually between 1A or 500 mA. The 1A charging current is a maximum of 1500 mA.

The Intellicharger New i2 can charge two different batteries separately. The housing of the charger is made of fire-retardant plastic. The resulting heat is dissipated. The temperature is monitored to prevent damage from overheating.
The setting options are well thought out and completely sufficient. A display, which the D-series of the Nitecore Charger offers, is missing.
The i2 can charge one D-cell (mono). However, due to lack of space, two mono cells do not fit in the charger.
